Corporate Profile

Dr. Victor Udo
Chairman and CEO
As native of Nigeria and the Niger Delta in particular, Dr. Udo has a personal passion and deep sense of responsibility to make a difference in West Africa. Born in a very rural area in Obot Akara and growing up in Calabar, Cross River State, Victor knows and understands firsthand the problems faced by his people. When he returned from the United States to Nigeria between 2011 and 2019, he produced and hosted a radio and TV show to help focus his people on self-sufficiency and equitable sustainable development. He believes that Africa can leapfrog the fossil fuel economy towards nature-based decarbonization. Also during this time, Victor served the Nigerian government as CEO, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Power and Planning as well as serving as a B.O.D. Member.
Victor is leading ADC to implement nature-based projects. This Cross River Partnership includes 1.6 million hectares of forest for carbon sink and biodiversity as well as 200,000 hectares of land for bamboo, food crops and regenerative agriculture. The projects will establish small farming community-driven decarbonization, export oriented processing, poverty alleviation, Environmental Sustainable Goals (ESGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) impacts including diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ) where “no one is left behind”.
Dr. Udo is a people and results oriented transformational executive with over 25 years of experience in sustainable development (SD), energy and engineering across private, public and academic sectors including P&L responsibilities. He is a corporate strategist and public policy leader both in the United States and West Africa championing deployment of innovative processes and investments. He’s implemented strategies that increased revenue generation and resulted in cost savings, while enhancing environmental, social, and governance impacts along with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.
As the Chairman of the President’s Sustainability Council at Bucknell, his strategic leadership to students, faculty, staff and service providers resulted in the simultaneously planning and implementation of a 10- year roadmap for carbon neutrality, pathway to zero waste, ecological conservation and restoration as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts consistent with the University’s Strategic Plan. During his tenure, Bucknell is now ranked # 25th among the top 50 Green Universities in the USA and reduced its carbon footprint by almost 30% from the 2008 baseline.
In preparing Bucknell for carbon neutrality by 2030 while addressing his passion for equitable global Sustainable Development, Victor negotiated an MOU between Goldman Sachs and Bucknell University. To that end, he is volunteering as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Afri Decarbonization Corporation (ADC). Under his leadership, ADC signed an MOU with the Cross River State Government to develop sustainable nature-based economies, manage, conserve and reforest Cross River to expand its carbon removal potential including neighboring wetlands and mangrove restoration.
